With our first (significant) snowfall forecasted on the cusp of the first day of winter, freshly tuned skis at the ready, hot tub warm and bubbly and a full supply of logs ready for the fireplace, we find ourselves saying, “winter is our favorite time of year!” Winter in New Hampshire is truly magical. We have the luxury of being located in the best area in the state (in our opinion), wedged between the lakes and mountains regions, where frozen lakes provide ice skating, ice fishing and snowmobiling opportunities and 4000 foot mountains set the stage for thrilling downhill skiing and riding. Not to mention the boundless nordic skiing trails in and around the nearby White Mountain National Forest. Add our onsite snowshoe and nordic trails, indoor pool and hot tub plus easy access to tax free shopping and award-winning dining and one could argue we have all the ingredients for the perfect vacation! Yes, winter is our favorite time of year here at Cold Spring. But keep in mind, we live in New England, where we are blessed with the opportunity to experience 4 beautiful yet distinctly different times of year. So that opinion, like our seasons, is subject to change
